What Cosmetic Dentistry Services Do You Offer?
We are proud to provide the following services designed to improve, repair, and renew your smile:
At Ladera Dentistry, we are an amalgam-free practice. This means that our cosmetic dentistry treatments only use natural-looking materials that are completely safe for the body. When visiting us for care, you and your loved ones have the additional benefit of enjoying beautiful and healthy results through safe treatment.
Aesthetic & Traditional Orthodontics for Straighter, Healthier Teeth
While straighter, more aligned teeth look great, they also tend to be healthier! This is because evenly spaced teeth are easier to brush, floss, and keep clean. A healthy bite, where your top and bottom teeth meet evenly, makes it easier to speak, chew, and digest food properly. This, in turn, helps maintain your dental and oral health for many years to come.
At Ladera Dentistry, we offer a variety of orthodontic options for every smile with traditional braces, phase one and two orthodontics, and Invisalign aligners.
How Do Your Orthodontics Treatments Work?
Both metal and clear braces work to straighten your teeth to their healthiest and most ideal position. These orthodontic treatments, however, work differently.
Traditional braces use metal brackets, an archwire, and sometimes rubber bands to apply constant pressure that slowly moves teeth into position. Each bracket is a small, stainless steel square that we bond directly to the surfaces of your teeth. Once in place, we weave the metal archwire through each bracket, connecting your traditional braces. We treat dental and jaw misalignment issues for children as young as seven with phase one and two initial orthodontics using metal braces.
The Invisalign system consists of aligners made from virtually invisible plastic. Each tray fits perfectly and uses pinpointed pressure to straighten your smile gently. As your teeth align, you’ll be given a new set of trays about every two weeks, helping you graduate through your treatment. Invisalign braces are removable, allowing for easy oral hygiene and unrestricted diet. However, because you must wear your trays for up to 22 hours daily, our team only provides Invisalign for responsible teens and adults.
Creating Hollywood-Worthy Smiles with Porcelain Veneers
Veneers are thin yet durable shells of porcelain or white composite materials. Veneers mimic the natural shape, shade, and translucency of teeth while improving their overall appearance. Treatment with veneers is very personalized, and our dentists take the time to make sure your results improve natural beauty and exceed your expectations.
During your veneer consultation, Dr. Ly and Dr. Khadem design each veneer according to your specific needs and desires. This often includes analyzing everything from your eye color to your skin tone, face shape, and how your lips move when you speak. This attention to detail will help your veneers complement your natural features to create a smile that’s uniquely yours.
Who Can Get Porcelain Veneers?
Adults who are in good oral and overall health often make great candidates for veneers. As with all treatments, we first examine your teeth and gums, making sure they are free of decay and infection. A strong foundation of dental health is necessary for successful and long-lasting veneer treatment. With porcelain veneers, we can address chipped teeth, reduce gaps, eliminate deep discoloration, and improve shape. Veneers can even help us address mild orthodontic issues, such as overlapping teeth.
Highlight Your Natural Beauty with Professional Teeth Whitening
Teeth are strong, but with constant use for eating and drinking, some discoloration is inevitable. Dark foods and drinks, such as berries, tomato sauces, red wine, coffee, and soda can easily stain your teeth, concealing their natural glow. With professional teeth whitening, we can help eliminate pesky surface stains using specialty-grade whitening gels. These solutions work to lift years of discoloration from your smile safely and effectively, sometimes in as little as an hour!
At Ladera Dentistry, we use Opalescence® to provide personalized take-home whitening kits and fast, in-office laser teeth whitening!
Which Teeth Whitening Option is Right for Me?
Take-home teeth whitening is a great option if your schedule does not allow you visit our practice, or if you simply wish you brighten your smile on your own time. To begin treatment, you will need one quick visit to our office so we can take impressions of your smile. We send your impressions to a trusted lab, where your custom whitening trays are created. When they are ready, we present your kit with proper instructions on how to whiten your teeth in the convenience of your home.
Laser teeth whitening lets you brighten your smile comfortably in the dental chair. With this method, our dentists or a trusted member of our team will monitor your treatment from start to finish. Your lips and gums are protected as we apply the whitening solution directly to your teeth. We use an approved dental laser to activate the whitening gel, delivering safe, quick, and effective treatment.
How Do I Keep My Teeth Bright After Whitening?
Below are seven ways you can help keep your smile brighter for longer!
- Limit or avoid dark foods like curry, berries, and tomato sauces
- Limit or avoid dark drinks like soda, red wine, and coffee
- Avoid smoking and using tobacco products
- Brush your teeth for two minutes, twice a day
- Floss daily, and after every meal if you can
- Consider touch-up treatments with a take-home whitening kit
- Visit us for routine cleanings every six months
Metal-Free Fillings for Aesthetic Tooth Restoration
For teeth with mild levels of damage, our white composite fillings can repair enamel and fill in the space after decay is removed. Fillings provide many benefits ranging from improved aesthetics to quick tooth repair. The composite materials we use for our fillings bonds well to enamel and we can match your natural shade. Whether you have a molar or a front tooth in need of repair, composite fillings can perform brilliantly.
What’s the Difference Between a Filling & a Crown?
Fillings are technically white composite resins that bond directly onto your teeth. Crowns are restorations covering the entire structure of a severely damaged, weak, or misshaped tooth. We use porcelain materials known for their ability to mimic the appearance and function of natural teeth. Crowns are practically indistinguishable from the rest of your teeth and help repair and strengthen your tooth.
Rebuilding Smiles with Dental Implants & Beautiful Restorations
Dental implants are the only replacement option that replaces your missing tooth from root to crown. This allows our team to restore your smile completely, no matter the reason for your tooth loss.
Dental implants are posts made of body-safe titanium. When surgically placed into your jawbone by one of our skilled dentists, they fuse naturally with living tissue and bone. It is through this bonding process that dental implants become a permanent part of your jawbone. When combined with your custom crown, bridge, or denture, dental implants can renew function, oral health, digestion, and speech.
How Many Teeth Can Implant Restorations Restore?
At Ladera Dentistry, not only do we place dental implants, but we also provide a variety of beautiful and customized restorations supported by implants. With the following restorations, we can replace one tooth or a complete arch.
